Develop exciting projects yourself
with the Raspberry project from aerops
With aerops and a Raspberry Pi, exciting automation and infrastructure projects for airfields and clubs can be implemented – simple, cost-effective, and flexibly expandable.
How does it work?
We provide you with a small installation script for the Raspberry Pi.
Using an Aerops API key, the Raspberry Pi automatically registers with our server and then receives all necessary configurations and data.
This allows you to implement your own projects based on the aerops platform within just a few minutes.
Example project:
Automatically write airband radio communication entries into the aerops flight log
This project is especially exciting for unattended airfield operations.
A USB RTL-SDR stick is simply connected to the Raspberry Pi.
Our installation script already includes all required packages and drivers and then automatically starts streaming the airband radio communication.
In the aerops main flight log, this creates a timeline of all recorded radio transmissions.
It becomes even more powerful with an OpenAI integration:
If you also provide an OpenAI access key, the radio communications are automatically transcribed and directly assigned to the corresponding flight movement.
This creates a fully documented communication history within the flight log.
Example project:
Control charging stations or power outlets via the aerops app
More and more club members are arriving at the airfield with electric cars and want to charge them. With our Raspberry Pi project, you can build a simple and cost-effective solution yourself.
For example, the following components are required:
- a Shelly Pro 3EM for power measurement
- a Shelly Pro relay for enabling the power outlet or wallbox
- a Raspberry Pi with Aerops integration
This allows you to control 11 kW power outlets or other electrical devices directly via the Aerops app or through remote activation.
Billing included
- Guests can conveniently pay by credit card based on the consumed kWh
- Club members can be billed collectively at the end of the month
- All revenues are automatically assigned to the corresponding customer account in Aerops
Of course, you can also develop your own API routes and custom extensions on the Raspberry Pi — for example, to integrate professional wallboxes or other infrastructure systems.
